How do I redeem my Staples gift card?
Use the card at any Staples U.S. retail store or on staples.com. In store, hand the card to the cashier at checkout — it works like cash toward merchandise and services. How do I check the balance of my Staples gift card?
You can check your balance on Staples' website using the card number and PIN printed on the back of the card or included in the eGift email. Where can I use a Staples gift card?
Staples gift cards work at more than 1,000 Staples U.S. retail stores and on staples.com. They apply to most merchandise and services — office supplies, technology, furniture, and Print & Marketing jobs placed in store. Two exceptions called out in the terms: Instacart orders and custom Print & Marketing Services placed on staples.com are not eligible for gift card payment.
Do Staples gift cards expire?
Staples gift cards carry no expiration date and no dormancy or inactivity fees, so the balance stays on the card until it's spent. The physical card has no value until it's activated at purchase. Damaged or lost cards can be replaced only with valid proof of purchase, and only for the remaining balance at the time of the claim.
Can I use a Staples gift card for Print & Marketing Services?
Yes — for Print & Marketing jobs placed in store, including copies, posters, business cards, flyers, banners, and document laminating. The terms carve out one exception: custom Print & Marketing Services ordered through staples.com can't be paid with a Staples gift card. Start those jobs at your local store counter if you want to apply the card.
Can I use a Staples gift card to buy other gift cards?
No. Staples' terms explicitly prohibit using a Staples gift card to purchase other gift cards — including additional Staples cards, third-party merchant cards, Visa or Mastercard prepaid cards, and wireless top-up cards. Credit card payments are also excluded. The card is intended for merchandise and services only, and cashiers will decline gift-card-on-gift-card transactions.
What denominations are available?
Through Dyme, Staples eGift cards are sold as variable-load: pick any amount from $3 up to $500 in $1 increments at checkout. Staples' own site sells physical cards in fixed $25 increments up to $100, but the digital version gives you precise control — useful for matching a specific print-job quote or a teammate's expense-reimbursement limit.
Can I use a Staples gift card in Canada or internationally?
No. Staples U.S. gift cards are redeemable only at Staples U.S. retail stores and on staples.com. They are not accepted at Staples Canada locations (a separate company) or at any international Staples affiliate. If you're shopping from abroad, orders can only ship within the United States regardless of the payment method used.
How many Dyme Miles do I earn on a Staples gift card?
You earn 1 Dyme Mile for every $1 loaded onto your Staples gift card. A $100 card returns 100 Miles; a $500 card returns 500 Miles. Miles post to your Dyme account within 3 business days of purchase and are redeemable on any airline, any hotel — no blackouts, no expiration — at travel.dyme.earth.
What payment methods does Dyme accept for Staples gift cards?
Dyme accepts credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay for Staples gift card purchases. Checkout runs through our secure payment processor — no account funding or wallet top-up required. Dyme Miles are an earned reward on the purchase, not a payment method, so you can't spend existing Miles toward a gift card; you earn new Miles when you buy one.
